TCS CodeVita is an annual, global competitive programming challenge hosted by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for university students. It holds a Guinness World Records title as the world's largest computer programming competition. Participating gives students a chance to win significant cash prizes, earn job and internship opportunities at TCS, and gain global recognition. Key highlights - A global platform: An annual event since 2012, CodeVita brings together programming talent from around the world. For instance, recent seasons were open to batches graduating in 2025, 2026, 2027, and 2028. - Age requirement: The minimum age for participation is 18 years. Rewards and opportunities - Grand Prize: The top three coders in the Grand Finale share a prize pool of $20,000. - Job offers: High performers in the initial rounds may receive job offers for roles like Ninja or Digital at TCS, with higher performance correlating to higher salary packages. - Internship opportunities: High-ranking students in their second or third year can receive internships at TCS. - Certificates: Students who qualify for the second round receive a participation certificate. - Global ranking: Participants earn a global rank, which can enhance their resume. Competition structure - Round 1 (Pre-Qualifier): An online coding challenge where participants have a 6-hour window to solve approximately six problems. It is typically conducted over 24 hours, and students can choose their preferred start time. - Round 2 (Qualifier): Shortlisted candidates face a more challenging, 6-hour online coding round. Good performance can lead to better job offers. - Round 3 (Grand Finale): Finalists are flown to a TCS campus, often in India, for the final, on-site coding battle.
